One of the UK’s leading sports retailer Sports Direct is set to open its first store in Malta.

The retail giant has put up advertising boards at the recently-opened Mercury in St Julian’s as the store is set to open in the shopping complex. 

The advertisement shows “Sports Direct coming soon” and is located on the ground level of the building.

Back in 2019, Sports Direct set up a Maltese company registered at the Mrieħel offices of corporate services providers Exco Services Ltd. however no official announcement had been made on when a store would open.

Sports Direct is one of the most famous sports retail providers in the world with 427 stores worldwide. 

The store is expected offer a wide variety of sports apparel, equipment, and accessories as the brand aims to be a one-stop destination for all sports-related needs.
