SiGMA Foundation’s Expeditions Aimed At Raising Funds For ‘Women Empowerment’ Project In Ethopia
The SiGMA Foundation has taken on yet another challenge in the name of their Women Empowerment Project in Ethiopia, and they’re encouraging the general public to donate to the cause.
As the “philanthropic arm of SiGMA Group”, the foundation’s aim is to empower and give back to deprived communities through their charity work and fundraisers. Their latest project, Women Empowerment, works at improving the lives of women living in poverty within the region by establishing a skill development centre to train these women in information technology, hairdressing and cookery, amongst other skills.
The team is currently walking 130km in Spain, to complete the iconic Camino de Santiago. The next expedition, set to take place on 16th May, involves the challenging climb of Mount Toubkal. Only three members of the SiGMA Foundation will be taking on both Camino de Santiago and Mount Toubkal, without any rest in between, apart from flying back to Malta to acquire the necessary supplies and gear.
While back-to-back expeditions are tough, they’ve been taken on by Sami Baddar, Keith Marshall and Jessie Busuttil to help raise funds for the project and the people who truly need it. The SiGMA Foundation’s efforts in creating a “sustainable impact by offering educational opportunities and skill development initiatives to girls and women” is what their charitable events, fundraisers and these expeditions are all about, stated Sami on social media.
They encourage anyone who would like to contribute to the cause to do so via BOV mobile or Revolut, on +356 79994978.
