Ten Year Old Wonder Girl Publishes Her First Book
Almikaya Aquilina, model, actor and now writer, has launched her first public book entitled ‘The Legend of the Witch’ this weekend. And more impressive than her CV is the fact that she’s only ten years old.
This wonder-child has been around the local media scene for a while. Though this is her first published book, when she was younger she used to also write for the Sagħtar school magazine by contributing her short stories. She’s also played several roles on local television drama. And she’s participated in several fashion shows and modelling competitions.
(And she’s ten).
The story of the book tells a tale of a normal and energetic student named Alexia who discovers an exciting world of wonders. Her life takes an unexpected turn after this event, as a dangerous force that should have remained dormant is now back with a vengeance.
It’s a Narnia-meets-the-first-Harry-Potter kind of book, and we’re stoked.
Last Saturday the launch of her book was hosted by Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at San Anton Palace. At the event, she called Amilkaya’s talent “extraordinary”, especially since the child “became an author at such a tender age.”
The book was produced by Vision+ and Joseph Sultana is the general editor of the book, while Lorna Cynthia Aquilina proofread it. The pictures featured in the book were taken by Yury Mikhailovich.
