This Beloved Marsascala Charity Coffee Shop Needs Your Help To Bring Their Services On Wheels

A Marsascala coffee shop, once a dream of young sinusitis and meningoencephalitis patient Jacob Cachia, has made its name through creative charity projects including a pay-it-forward scheme to help families passing through trauma. Four years later, Jacob’s Brew is looking to expand on four wheels, to reach people in need all over the islands.

For the last two years, Jacob’s Brew’s team has visited patients and relatives in the intensive care unit at Mater Dei Hospital, delivering free sandwiches and coffee with the launch of Jacob’s Coffee Run.

“The feedback and gratitude we received from benefactors of our good deeds are priceless,” Jacob’s mother Sara Cachia, explained.

And while the pandemic forced them to seize their visits, the Cachia family is using the time to expand their operation on wheels.

“We felt we need to reach out to more people in need of support, so we’re looking to purchase and set up a pay-it-forward coffee van, to continue helping families across Malta and Gozo,” Cachia continued.

Let’s do this 🙏❤️😊

Instead of staying idle, the couple is pooling together profits to set up their latest venture, their own four wheels to deliver delicious brews across the island.

“Unfortunately because of COVID-19 our activities at the hospital have been put on hold until better days. But when we can restart, we will simply carry on where we left off.”

Their van will help them sell food and beverages in designated hot spots beyond Mater Dei Hospital. The profits will be used to pay forward coffee and sandwiches at homeless shelters, rehab hospitals, mental health institutions and drug rehab centres.

Or as Cachia neatly sums up, “anywhere and everywhere that support is needed!”

In order to kickstart their project, the family are looking to raise €30,000. To date, they have raised €9,313.

“You can help us achieve our goal. We cannot do it without your help. You can help us make that difference to so many lives!” she said.

If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so with Revolut (99892701) or Paypal ([email protected]).

Otherwise, cheques are payable to SURVIVORS MALTA and can be sent to Jacob’s Brew, 144 Triq Is Salini, Marsascala.

“If not, you can simply pop on over to our little coffee shop and we can thank you personally for your donation,” Cachia finished.
