Tributes are pouring in for popular Maltese mentalist Michael Mock, who passed away earlier today.

The mentalist dedicated his life his craft, having started studying and performing magic at the tender age of 13.

Michael, who was 58, was definitely a familiar face, having appeared on Malta’s Got Talent and mesmerising the judges with his capabilities, as well as brining to life the iconic Ronald Mc Donald at the franchise’s establishments.

Popular Maltese illusionist Vanni Pulè took to his Facebook to remember his “dear friend,” whom he mentored in magic “when he was 12” and with whom he “remained friends since”.

According to Pulè, the mentalist passed away “from natural causes”.

In his heartfelt message, Pulè wrote that he was “with him yesterday lunchtime.”

Malta’s Got Talent also took to their social media to pay the mentalist a tribute, writing “Michael’s true magic was in the simplest of tricks and jokes, radiating happiness to everyone around him. Whether it was sleight of hand or the mysteries of Mentalism, he made us believe in the extraordinary.”

The mentalist was the son of Charles Mock, a former Balluta Waterpolo Club goalkeeper and sports journalist. He died in June 2022.

Rest in peace, Michael.
