Yesterday, X Factor Malta winner Richard Aquilina visited Malta’s young inspirational athlete Jake Vella in hospital, calling him a “true hero” who inspired him and so many others.

“Dear Jake, it was truly a pleasure meeting you,” Richard wrote on social media last night. “Your kindness and courage makes you a hero in our eyes! Thank you for the inspiration and the wonderful encounter.”
And to make the whole thing even more adorable, Richard even took his shiny X Factor Malta trophy and a framed photo of himself performing with him.
