Watch: 10-Year-Old Gaza Girl Blinded In One Eye Lara Lands In Malta For Treatment
Lara Abu Alkas, a 10-year-old Palestinian girl who was blinded in one eye after being struck by the fragments of a missile in an airstrike on a hospital in Gaza, has landed in Malta.
Accompanied by her mother, Lara will now be treated by doctors in Malta, who will try to save the vision she still has in her left eye.

A crowd of well wishers – including the recovering three-year-old Selah, another Gaza survivor – welcomed Lara Elkass this evening, in scenes which were reminiscent of when Selah herself arrived on the islands back in February.

Waving Palestinian flags, the crowd clapped as Lara appeared with her mother; hugging ambassador Fadi Hanania close as the Palestinian contingent spoke to the media.
Hanania explained that Lara will receive both medical as well as emotional treatment for the horrific things she’s seen, and thanked the Government of Malta for not only taking in these injured Palestinian children, but with providing them with free visas.
Welcome to Malta Lara!
