Beloved ALS activist Bjorn Formosa has been discharged from hospital after three weeks, right on time for his latest telethon.

Earlier this month, Bjorn was rushed to hospital in great pain due to a large amount of prostate stones and there fears right up to this weekend that he wouldn’t be able to attend his own telethon today.

However, a stent intervention carried out late on Friday gave him temporary relief, and he was finally even able to be put back on his wheelchair had of a two-hour operation that he is expected to undergo sometime next month

“This is something very big and exciting for me,” Bjorn said last night after he was told that he would be able to attend today’s telethon.

Bjorn was diagnosed with ALS, a neurodegenerative neuromuscular disease that results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles, in 2015 when he was 28 years old.

Since then, he has won the nation’s hearts with his fundraising efforts to build and extend a respite home for neurological patients and his can-do attitude, even as his condition deteriorated.
