You may not have seen him, but a Maltese man from Marsa with social issues on his mind is lowkey racking up thousands of views on a daily basis, all while eating a hearty dinner.

Adrian Zammit is a Maltese social media influencer the likes of which you’ve never seen.

Maltese to the core, followed by thousands of people, and a middle-aged construction worker, Adrian uploads videos three times a week where he discusses the woes and concerns the Maltese face on a daily basis.

He’s usually accompanied by a hungry bulldog named Goffy by his side and a big bowl of food in front of him.

Adrian livestreams his thoughts as he makes his way through his dinner, taking calls and reading messages from the public throughout the stream.

Sometimes it can get out of hand, with callers getting loud, but Adrian, being a big believer in freedom of speech, generally gives callers three minutes to make their points.

Adrian’s discussed everything from the construction crisis to abortion to racism to low wages in Malta.

And the episodes aren’t short, often skipping 30 or 40 minutes as his smartphone keeps buzzing and ringing with fans’ comments.

He even uploads regular teasers from his workplace, letting viewers know what the topic of discussion for the evening will be.

Though some may be put off by his informal, colloquial way of speaking, he’s built a loyal following who tune in every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 pm to hear his take on modern Malta.

And when he misses an episode, like he did last Friday, his wall becomes inundated with people wondering what happened.

Adrian, a proud Marsa resident, had tried to contest the local elections as an independent candidate.

He seemed happy just to be in the running, saying that if he was elected it would be a surrpise, but that he would do good with the Marsa people.

As he grows in popularity, Adrian likes to end his programs with the same slogan he lives his life by:

‘Ħaddem moħħok, u tkunx lagħqi jew laqgħija!”

(“Use your head, and don’t be a suck-up!”)
