WATCH: Homeless Maltese Man In Honduras Moved There After Falling In Love With A Woman
More details have emerged about a homeless person living on the streets of Honduras that Redditors believe is a Maltese person named James Mangion.
A news report published on the Honduran website HCH Television Digital on the 9th of July describes an Englishman who lived for “many years” in Malta – and is now trying to return to the island.
The report continues to say that the man, who HCH name as Jason Sean Moroney, had moved to the Central American country three years ago after falling in love with a Honduran woman.
After his relationship with the woman blossomed, Jason moved to Honduras to meet her family. However, it didn’t work out, and now he is homeless, living in the city centre of Tegucigalpa, Honduras’ violent capital city, begging for food.

HCH’s report came out about three weeks ago, and if yesterday’s Reddit post is to be believed, the man is currently locked up in a psychiatric hospital, telling nurses his name is James Mangion.
Maltese authorities have been alerted to the man’s situation, and are attempting to verify whether the man has any Maltese connection before initiating services afforded to Maltese nationals.
Earlier today, Lovin Malta was contacted by a family friend of the man, who confirmed that he’s a Maltese national with an English passport.
