Watch: ‘I’m Speechless’ – Young Maltese Mother With Rare Cancer Thanks Strangers Who Raised €50,000 For Her Treatment

A young Maltese mother battling a very rare cancer has taken to social media to post a heartbreakingly beautiful video thanking everyone who helped her raise €50,000 for one final hope abroad.
22-year-old Kimberly Zammit – who has been suffering from Rhabdomyosarcoma ever since she was 19 and pregnant and needed to start treatment as soon as she gave birth – made headlines over the weekend after her plea to live and grow up with her daughter went viral. “Please help me with this final hope to live for my daughter,” Kimberly said in her short but powerful message where she talked about a private clinic in Germany which offers treatment for the three new tumours she’s developed, at the hefty price of €3,900 per injection. “I want to grow old with her”.
A number of media platforms and TV programmes pushed her cause as more and more people spread her message and the helpline 98112532, and over the last couple of days, an overwhelming wave of support saw the young mother raise tens of thousands.
This morning, Kimberly returned to social media, crying, but this time, it was tears of happiness.

“The sum we raised was €50,000,” Kimberly said, clearly overcome with emotion. “It will cover the three main treatments, the accommodation and the trip to who will be accompanying me. I am truly speechless, I’m sorry. I’m speechless. I’d like to thank everyone who believed in me, and loved me, without knowing me, and who helped me so I could live for my daughter.”
“Thank you so much, my hope is to continue living and to be there for my daughter,” she continued, crying. “Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart. Thank you.”
