WATCH: Ironman World Champion Chris McCormack Gives A Shout Out To Jake Vella
Chris McCormack, known as Macca, has reached out to Jake Vella – the seven year-old Maltese boy suffering from ROHHAD who’s story has touched the hearts of people all over the world.
McCormack is an Australian triathlete known as one of endurance sport’s most iconic athletes. He’s a two-time winner of the Ironman World Championship (2007 & 2010), along with having a truckload of other amazing accolades.
McCormack also runs Bahrain Endurance 13, a team of endurance athletes which includes none other than one of Jake’s heroes Alastair Brownlee.
In his video message to Jake, McCormack sends his regards to Jake from Brownlee, who is currently racing in his first half-Ironman as part of the team. He also promises to send a gift from the two-time Olympic medallist himself – one of his own caps!
“We’re all thinking of you and we think you’re a legend,” McCormack said. “We’re so stoked that you’re involved in triathlon and you’ve found triathlon… You inspire so many people”.
