Watch: Malta’s Firefighters Flank Birżebbuġa Parish Church’s Steps In Beautiful Farewell To Joseph Zammit

Malta’s firefighters came together to put on a touching final send-off to one of their own, 48-year-old Joseph Zammit, during his funeral this afternoon.

At 2pm, members of Civil Protection Malta flanked both sides of the steps leading up to the Birżebbuġa Parish Church in a beautiful and solemn show of tribute and respect to the heroic Maltese firefighter who died last Sunday after putting out a grassfire in Pembroke.

The crowd erupted in applause, with members from the community encouraging Joseph’s family as the CPD officials brought him inside the church for the funeral mass.
