Watch: Maltese Landmarks Lit Up Green For World Mental Health Day
Have you been seeing green lately? That’s probably because a massive amount of significant buildings around the island have banded together to light up their facades in a bright green in support of World Mental Health Day
Auberge de Castille, Mater Dei Hospital, The Valletta Food Market, Esplora Science Centre and many many other landmarks were a part of the weeklong project that aimed at raising awareness for the day.
The colour green has been adopted as the official colour for Mental Health and World Mental Health Day that’s been celebrated on 10th October worldwide since 1992. Some claim the colour represents life, growth and new beginnings, a symbol that tough times never last.
Many organisations from all over the island have banded together to shine a light in the days leading up to the occasion and have since promoted the relevant mental health helplines and organisations for anyone in need.
The National Mental Health Line 1579 is a helpline available 24/7, along with other services such as the Crisis Helpline on 99339966 or visit Kellimni.com for a live chatline.
