Every year on Boxing Day, the Maltese population comes together to raise money for the Malta Community Chest Fund. L-Istrina is an annual charity event that continues to prove the generosity of the Maltese; last year over €6 million was raised. Kadeem is just one of the many children that will benefit from the funds raised through L-Itsrina.
Kadeem flew up to the UK earlier this year for treatment after a build up of fluid was found in his brain. The operation, which lasted eight hours, was a very risky one as the slightest of miscalculations could have left Kadeem sightless, or unable to move.
Despite not being fully cured, Kadeem remains positive, claiming that he loves everyone and that he wants his parents to be happy and calm.
This year is the 20th edition of L-Istrina, and everyone is doing their bit to help children like Kadeem.
