WATCH: Maltese Man Proposes A New Special School For Bullies

How should Malta clamp down on school bullying? Malcolm Seychell, a frequent TV debate guest and a former politician, has come up with a rather eyebrow-raising proposal – all the worst bullies should be gathered up and sent to their own specialised school.

“We always talk about bullying but what about the children who bully others? We’re seeing how we can protect victims [of bullying] but their bullies remains there,” Seychell said on last night’s Stat Ta’ Fast episode on ONE TV. “I believe bullies with serious problems should go to a specialised school which will have specialised and better-paid teachers rather than to a normal class with other children.”

Seychell then warned that school discipline has become too lax, with students accusing their teachers of abuse for minor punishments, such as sending them to the corner.

“It’s not abuse, its a way of correcting them,” he said.
