Well Done Kruiven! Eight-Year-Old Boy Runs From Mdina To San Anton To Raise Funds For Dar Bjorn Respite
Eight-year-old Kruiven completed a tough endurance test this morning, running 5km from Mdina to San Anton Gardens to raise funds for ALS activist Bjorn Formosa’s new project.
“Bjorn can’t move a single muscle yet he is determined to finish his life race by helping others,” Kruiven said prior to the race. “I want to help Bjorn by running a 5K race.”
And run the race he did, alongside his mother Charmaine and Bjorn’s wife Maria, completing it in a total of 22 minutes.
“I feel a bit tired but pleased,” a breathless Kruiven said afterwards, while announcing his intention to run an even longer distance next year.
Bjorn praised his efforts too, describing the race as an amazing feat for such a young boy.
Kruiven ran to race funds for DAR Bjorn Respite, a planned extension of DAR Bjorn, a community home in Qormi for patients with ALS, MS and other neurological conditions which is run by Bjorn Formosa’s foundation ALS Malta+.
He has so far raised €3,863 out of his €5,000 target but you can still donate here.
Well done Kruiven!
