Following the devastating news of Nicky Sansone’s passing, emotional tributes have been pouring in to celebrate the exciting and inspiring life of the widely loved LGBTIQ+ activist.
Close friends and family remembered Nicky for her “unwavering strength” and beautiful spirit that shone through any difficult moment.
Nicky passed away earlier today and the news was shared by her dear friend Sue who had been helping to take care of the 55-year-old amid her fierce battle against stage four cancer.
Nicky captured the hearts of thousands when she decided to throw a party in celebration of her life after being told by doctors that she had weeks left to live and wouldn’t make it to her next birthday. She shared this beautiful celebration to TikTok – a platform she had been using to document her story since her diagnosis – and amassed widespread support.
Just yesterday, Nicky posted her “last video” to TikTok – she reminded viewers to “enjoy life, live, love, and smile” – a phrase she used consistently throughout her updates.
“Thank you all so much for everything,” she stated. “I will speak to you all on the other side.”
