Young Boy Behind Rainbow Ward Sweet Shop Passes Away: ‘Jake Taught Us What True Love Is’
Jake, the seven-year-old boy behind a touching sweet shop within Mater Dei’s Rainbow Ward, has passed away.
The news was announced by Puttinu Cares, who shared a moving post remembering the young boy’s humility.
“Jake taught us how to be humble, how to stop fighting in the face of great suffering, how to get up every morning to live, how to share everything you have to find happiness,” it said on social media.
“Jake taught us what true love is – unending love – unlimited love for family.”
Jake’s sweet shop left a lasting impression on anyone within the Rainbow Ward. He would make up every morning to give out sweets to every patient and staff in the ward.
“We will never forget you and keep your happy memory in our hearts,” Puttinu said.
