From Malta To West Africa: Kinnie Launches Production In Ghana

Malta’s iconic soft drink has just gone global in a big way, Kinnie is now being produced in Ghana, marking the brand’s first-ever manufacturing step into Africa.

In partnership with Acadia Industries, a well-known player in Ghana’s fast-moving consumer goods sector, Kinnie is now officially on Ghanaian shelves, made with the same recipe that’s been a staple in Maltese fridges for decades.

“This isn’t just about launching a drink, it’s about bringing Maltese heritage to West Africa,” said Michael Farrugia, Deputy CEO at Simonds Farsons Cisk. With Ghana’s booming beverage market and love for herbal-infused drinks, it’s a natural fit.

Production and distribution are fully managed by the Ghanaian team, with ongoing support from Malta and there’s more to come. Farsons has big plans to take Kinnie to other parts of Africa in the next few years.
