The death toll in Gaza is nearing 18,000, most of which are said to be women and children, as Israel has continued to decimate most of Gaza, this time hitting the Southern areas of the main city.

About 18,000 Palestinians are said to have been killed in Israeli bombardment since Hamas triggered the conflict on 7th October. Meanwhile, the death toll in Israel stands at around 1,100.

Throughout the night, Israel has continued to bomb the southern areas of the main city of Gaza, shortly after Hamas threatened to kill all Israeli hostages if its demands were not met.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation has called for immediate humanitarian access to Gaza, in an extraordinary meeting held on Sunday.

A resolution was adopted by consensus, calling for the “immediate, sustained and unimpeded passage of humanitarian relief, including the access of medical personnel”.

This comes as medical services in Gaza and the system within itself is collapsing after months of bombing, with nearly two million people displaced since the start of the war.

As a response to the ongoing atrocities, the UN General Assembly is set to hold an emegerncy special session on Tuesday afternoon.
