Watch Live: The Queen’s Funeral Takes Over London And The World

Article Featured Image

The world is watching on as the final farewell for Queen Elizabeth II is currently underway in London.

The grand state funeral has taken over the streets of London, and without a doubt, screens all over the planet.

Earlier this morning, Westminster Abbey’s tenor bell tolled once a minute for 96 minutes – one for each year of life of Britain’s longest-serving monarch.

Just moments ago, the coffin was loaded onto a gun carriage for a short procession to the Abbey, followed on foot by King Charles III and senior members of the Royal family.

After the ongoing funeral service, which has everyone from American president Joe Biden to Japanese emperor Naruhito in attendance, the Last Post will be played, followed by a two-minute silence observed across the country.

The coffin will be placed back on the gun carriage and taken to Wellington Arch in a procession. When it arrives at Windsor later this afternoon, the public will line up the route of the Long Walk which the hearse slowly drives up.

The funeral is also being attended by President George Vella, Malta’s head of state.

By 4pm UK time, a televised committal ceremony will be held in Windsor’s St George’s Chapel, where it will be lowered into the royal vault.

The day ends tonight at 7:30pm, where a private interment in the King George VI Memorial Chapel will see the Queen’s coffin reuniting with her late husband Prince Philip’s coffin.
