Meet ‘The Most Powerful’ Maltese Man You’ve Never Heard Of: The White House’s New Director Of Personnel
Believe it or not, “the most powerful man in Donald Trump’s transition” is a 38-year-old Maltese publisher and DJ who has assumed the role of the Director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.
Sergio Gor was described by the Washington Post as a “cherubic 38-year-old immigrant from the small Mediterranean archipelago of Malta” and his job right now is to “conduct the installation of thousands of Donald Trump’s political appointees”.
Gor’s position is uniquely powerful and comes after decades of involvement in American politics. He’s built a huge network of influential figures and managed to climb high up the political ladder.
So, we decided to learn a little more about the Malta-born US entrepreneur who’s made a name for himself in what could be considered one of the most important circles in the world right now.

Gor’s political life
Gor moved from Cospicua to the US in 1999 and has been active in American politics long before Trump’s emergence on the scene. In 2008, Gor was an activist for a group called Catholics for McCain in Washington DC when John McCain was a presidential candidate against Barack Obama.
His passion for Republican politics intensified through the years. During the 2024 US Presidential Election, Gor led the Super Political Action Committee (PAC) called Right for America, which served a key role in raising funds and coordinating efforts to boost Trump’s campaign. This super PAC raised a whopping $72.4 million and spent $71.2 million, solidifying Gor’s reputation as a Trump loyalist.
Right for America is a highly conservative and right-wing committee that claimed the need to “save America” from electoral candidate and former Vice President Kamala Harris’ “far left” policies.
Most notably, Gor co-founded Winning Team Publishing in 2021 with Donald Trump Jr. The conservative publishing house has released works like ‘Our Journey Together’ – which chronicles Trump’s presidential journey and perspectives, and ‘Letters to Trump’.
Then, following the most recent election, Gor was appointed as the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office under President Trump, beginning his term on 20th January.
In this position, Gor plays a critical role in shaping the federal government by managing and overseeing the recruitment, vetting, and appointment of political appointees across the executive branch.
He will essentially ensure that the federal government operates effectively and is staffed with competent individuals who can execute the President’s vision and policies.
Gor’s background and professional life
Gor’s success isn’t limited to the political sphere. He studied at George Washington University and held several professional roles, including working as a booker for Fox News and serving as a spokesman for Senator Rand Paul.
However, his true professional passion lies in the publishing world, boasting over a decade of experience in the industry while navigating several roles and responsibilities ranging from editorial work, content creation, marketing, and project management.
Gor’s role within the Trump circle extends beyond serious, official business. He’s established himself as a sought-after DJ within the MAGA crowd, appearing behind the decks multiple times at Trump’s Florida club and earning social acclaim for it.
