Prime Minister Robert Abela and Foreign Affairs Minister Ian Borg have both congratulated Donald Trump on his expected presidential win, as it becomes more likely that Trump has secured his position as President of the United States.

While Trump has declared victory, it is yet to be officially confirmed.

Sharing a photo with Trump, Borg emphasised Malta’s commitment to building on its positive ties with the U.S., citing recent collaborations in trade and security.

“Malta looks forward to continuing to work closely with the United States of America in the same spirit of friendship and cooperation of these last years,” Borg wrote.

Meanwhile, Abela sent his best wishes to Trump, saying that he looks forward “to working together to deliver the peace, stability and prosperity that the world’s people deserve”.
