Roberta Metsola Marks Europe Day With Third Visit To Ukraine
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola is marking Europe Day in Ukraine, her third visit to the war-torn country.
Accompanied by a delegation of Maltese journalists, Metsola spent the morning touring bombed out sites, including a power station that was destroyed by several missiles and a youth cultural centre that was hit in central Kyiv.
Celebrated on 9th May, Europe Day commemorates the Schuman Declaration of 1950, where European leaders agreed to unite towards peace, shortly after World War II.
Metsola is being shown around Kyiv by Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian Parliament.
