‘This Is Criminal’, Roberta Metsola Says As ‘Europe Will Not Look Away’ From Kyiv Attacks
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has assured that “Europe will not look away” from Russia’s “sickening” and “criminal” attacks on Ukraine.
This comes as Russia has unleashed brutal attacks on Kyiv, which is the capital and largest city of Ukraine.
Kyiv, along with a number of other cities, woke up to the death and destruction left behind after a number of missile strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
“This is criminal. They will be held to account. Ukraine will win. Europe will not look away,” Metsola assured.
“What is happening now in Kyiv is sickening. It shows the world, again, the regime we are faced with: One that targets indiscriminately. One that rains terror and death down on children,” Metsola wrote.
“The air alarm does not stop,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said. “There are missiles hitting. There are dead and wounded. Please do not leave the shelters. Let’s hold on and be strong,” the president urged his citizens.
Today’s missile strikes – which come on day 229 of Ukraine and Russia’s “full-scale war” – have already been widely condemned by a number of western politicians.
