Sir David Beckham Officially Knighted By King Charles
Football icon Sir David Beckham has officially been knighted by King Charles for his services to sport and charity during a ceremony at Windsor Castle.
Beckham, 50, said he “cried when [he] first found out” about the honour, calling it an emotional moment for both him and his family. “This week has been really emotional… I’ve not been nervous, I’ve just been emotional.”
The former England captain, who earned 115 caps for his country and played for clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, and LA Galaxy, was accompanied by his wife Victoria Beckham, who is now officially Lady Beckham.
Alongside his legendary football career, Beckham has long been recognised for his charity work, including serving as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 2005.
From lifting trophies to receiving royal honours, Sir David Beckham has officially sealed his place as both a football and British cultural legend.
