UK PM Boris Johnson Expected To Face No-Confidence Vote Over Lockdown Party Scandal

A vote of no-confidence in British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to take place later, following mounting pressure from a host of MPs.
The vote is expected to be mounted from within his own party.
Speculation about a vote had gained some momentum over the past week as Johnson continues to face calls to resign over a series of ‘lockdown parties’ taking place amid the height of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions.
In order for a vote to take place, 54 conservative party (Tory) MPs must take a stand by submitting letters of no-confidence to the chair of the party, Sir Graham Brady. Only then, can the vote be called.
Presently, it is not known how many MPs have submitted letters to the chairman.
If a confidence motion is called, a majority of Tory MPs must vote in favour or against Johnson in a secret ballot, with no less than 180 votes required to succeed in removing Johnson from his position.
Should he survive the vote, however, Johnson would be safe from any further challenge for at least a year.
Do you think Boris Johnson should step down following the lockdown party scandal?
