Watch: Farmers Smash Through Police Barricades To Protest Outside EU Headquarters

Article Featured Image

Angry farmers forced their way through barriers and barbed wire set up around the European Union’s headquarters, continuing their ongoing protests in Brussels.

Police in riot gear patrolled the barricades at the main entry points to the European Council building, where the 27-nation bloc’s agriculture ministers were gathering.

Farmers dumped a trailer load of tires a few hundred metres from the building and set them on fire before converging in front of the EU headquarters.

Maltese Farmers also joined this movement, holding two demonstrations earlier this month against EU plans which threaten their livelihood.
