Watch: ‘It’s Time For An Immediate Pause’ – UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron Calls For Ceasefire In Gaza

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron has called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza with the aim to allow aid to enter the enclave and get more hostages out.
“It’s time for an immediate pause in the fighting because we’ve got to not only get the aid in, but crucially, we’ve got to get those hostages out,” Cameron stated.

The Foreign Secretary highlighted the urgent need for humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians amidst the ongoing conflict.
“And what I think we can do now is plan for how you turn that pause into a permanent, sustainable ceasefire without a return to fighting,” he continued.
Cameron also mentioned that he discussed this with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasising the need to prioritise these actions.
“Now, for that to happen, a lot of things would have to happen. You’d have to see the Hamas leadership leave Gaza, you’d have to see the instruments of terrorism being dismantled in Gaza but you’ve also got to see a political perspective so that the Palestinian people can see that there is a route to having a Palestinian state, to have a new future,” Cameron added.
Cameron’s statement came after he met with Netanyahu in a private meeting in Jerusalem during his visit to the Middle East to push for a pause in the conflict.
