Amidst a great first day of Local Council elections for the Labour Party, one young candidate has just gone and made history.

17-year-old Carlos Zarb is not only the youngest Maltese person to ever be elected as councillor (and the first ever under-18), but will also be the vice mayor of St. Paul’s Bay.

To make matters even sweeter, the locality has traditionally always leaned towards the Nationalist Party, but this election saw PL win, with elected mayor Alfred Grima at the helm.

Hundreds of Carlos Zarb’s friends and followers have already congratulated the teenager for his historical accomplishment.
