After Muscat’s EU Loss, Poignant Black And White Photo Shows Malta’s Prime Minister Like Never Before
Last night, something which very rarely happens, happened: Joseph Muscat lost a race.
After months, if not years, of rumours and speculation about the Maltese Prime Minister’s personal ambitions swirling, it all came to a head last night as he vied to become European Union Council President.
However, it was not to be, and in the wake of the loss, the Prime Minister’s Head of Communications posted an emotional black and white photo to Instagram that speaks volumes.
“72 hours of EU Summit which led to the choice of the EU’s top posts. A real privilege to share every minute of this experience,” Farrugia said alongside Ray Attard’s shot that showed the feeling in the room.

However, Joseph Muscat took the loss on the chin and congratulated his colleagues with a throwback of them trying pastizzi with him at Crystal Palace in Rabat
