Alex Borg Unveils New PN Shadow Cabinet
Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg has officially unveiled his new Shadow Cabinet, presenting it as a clear signal that the PN is prepared to provide serious, responsible, and forward-looking leadership for Malta and Gozo.
“This is not just about assigning responsibilities to MPs,” Borg said. “It is proof that the Nationalist Party is ready to give people a credible and visionary alternative.”
The reshuffle brings both continuity and renewal. Former party leader Bernard Grech has been named Shadow Minister for Capital Projects and Infrastructure, while Adrian Delia takes on Finance after moving from Health. Chris Said assumes responsibility for Gozo, a role previously held by Borg himself.
The lineup also highlights a new generation of MPs stepping into key roles. PAC Chairperson Darren Carabott has been appointed Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Security. Eve Borg Bonello will oversee Climate Change and Public Cleanliness, Bernice Bonello will focus on Youth and Local Government, Jerome Caruana Cilia takes on the Economy and Enterprise portfolio, and Ian Vassallo will be responsible for Preventive and Primary Care.
Through this Shadow Cabinet, the PN aims to put forward tangible solutions to Malta’s most pressing issues—boosting economic growth, promoting fairness, protecting the environment, and ensuring transparent governance.
Concluding his announcement, Borg affirmed: “We are ready to be the natural choice to lead the Maltese and Gozitan people towards a better future.”
