As University Exam Uncertainty Looms, Roberta Metsola Tells ‘Hard-Headed’ Government To ‘Stop Wasting Workers’ And Students’ Time’

A current UĦM industrial action happening at the University of Malta could potentially lead to the upcoming exams to be postponed… and as confusion looms just beyond the horizon, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has weighed in on the whole saga.

“Once again, students and teachers have ended up the victims of a government with wrong priorities,” Metsola wrote moments ago as a reaction to the news coming from uni.

“In a week when students are meant to be preparing themselves for exams, in the halls and corridors of university, only uncertainty stands out.”

“University workers have been waiting for the government to notice them, listen to them and give them what they deserve for too long,” Metsola continued. “I urge the government to stop being hard-headed and to stop wasting the workers’ and students’ time, and instead sit around a table to discuss things to end this uncertainty.”

Earlier this morning, KSU president Jeremy Mifsud Bonnici called on students to walk out of their classes tomorrow at 10.30am and gather at the Uni Quad for a sit-down protest.

“Once again, students are chess pieces in something they had nothing to do with,” Mifsud Bonnici said in a statement.

“This is our last chance to be listened to, so walk out and join us,” the KSU president continued. “Students should not be forgotten. Be there.”
