Ben Camille Is Not Excluding Getting Into Politics

Popular TV personality and actor Ben Camille has refused to rule out getting involved in politics in the future.

“I’d never say ‘never’, even though I don’t like how personal it gets at times,” he told MaltaToday in an interview. “I love the idea of serving for the greater cause of making a difference.”

“I would like to do something that will make a difference. Even if just on a local scale, I’d like to make a difference, for the better, of course.”

The route from entertainment to politics is not exactly well-trodden in Malta, but a few people have taken this path in recent years. Former Eurovision singer Claudette Buttigieg is now a Nationalist MP, while popular dancer Felix Busuttil will contest next year’s MEP elections with the Labour Party.

Ben’s statement comes a day after he was confirmed as the host of X Factor Malta – a new show based on the popular British series, whose winner will represent the country at next year’s Eurovision.
