Hours ahead of the official unveiling of a “plan of economic regeneration” following weeks of stagnation, closures and employments amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Robert Abela has taken to Facebook to announce the rallying call behind it all: Għada Aħjar.

“This multi-million plan will give a boost to families and a breath to businesses, based on the faith we have in our people,” Abela said.

“I’m convinced our country will carry on with this economic success which everyone can enjoy,” Abela finished, repeating the slogan in a hashtag for good measure.

Tonight’s economic stimulus package announcement – which is expected to go live at 7pm – will be replacing the initially-planned “snap mini-budget”.

Plans were changed when it became clear that the opposition had not been given enough time to react to the snap budget accordingly, as per procedure. The mini-budget was then scrapped and Abela will instead be announcing new measures in a press conference held tonight.
