Bomb Squad Called In As Harassment Against Birkirkara Mayor Escalates
After receiving multiple threats and enduring continuous harassment, Desirei Grech, the mayor of Birkirkara, has announced legal action against those involved.
The situation reached a critical point when the police, along with the Bomb Disposal Unit, were called in to respond to a potentially dangerous threat.

“After several threats and harassment, which instead of decreasing continued to increase, I had to take the necessary steps and will be led to court against everyone involved,” Grech wrote on Facebook.
Despite the escalation, the mayor remains committed to serving the community and condemns any attempts to disrupt her work.
In August, Grech also told Lovin Malta, “There were times where I didn’t feel safe coming to the council.”
