‘I Disagree’: Jason Micallef Criticises Robert Abela’s Support For Metsola

Labour delegate and chair of Valletta Cultural Agency Jason Micallef has criticised Prime Minister Robert Abela’s decision to support Roberta Metsola’s unanimous re-nomination as European Parliament President.
Micallef stated that he will only agree with the support once the PN stops “breaking and attacking all the nominations of the Labour government. Here, he referenced “respected judge” Toni Abela, European Commissioner Helena Dalli “who has done a stunning job”, and Chris Fearne “a man of great integrity and capacity”.
He concluded by saying that he is always in favour of Maltese politicians in Europe “not if they come from PN yes, and no if they come from the PL”.
Abela publicly pledged to support Metsola’s bid for a second term as EP president, arguing that not doing so would be “inconsistent”.
Do you think the government should support Metsola’s re-nomination?
