Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has arrived and is greeted with no less than a hero’s welcome.

The cheers and chants of the already impassioned crowd escalated as soon as Muscat set foot in front of the Maltese Courts, where he will be criminally charged with fraud, money laundering, and a slew of financial crimes.

The crowd chanted “Joseph, Joseph!” and “Viva l-Labour” as he made his way past the many supporters and waved back with a big smile, accompanied by his wife Michelle and Jason Micallef.

Some time earlier, his former Chief of Staff Keith Schembri and former Minister Konrad Mizzi entered the court, with many cheering for them.

Earlier this month, right after the Magisterial Inquiry was concluded, Muscat said he’s “ready for a fight” and is “sure he will win”.
