‘Cheap’ And ‘Increasingly Irrelevant’: Labour Claps Back At Bernard Grech After He Called For Abela’s Investigation

The PL has responded to opposition leader Bernard Grech’s call for Robert Abela to be personally investigated in relation to the Vitals-Steward hospitals deal by referring to Grech as a “cheap” politician acting out because he “knows he is becoming irrelevant”.
This comes after the PN called for Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà to investigate alleged wrongdoing behind the Vitals-Steward hospitals case – as well as looking into Robert Abela’s role in that deal.
Grech was interviewed on NET FM – where he explained that Gafà’s role as Police Commissioner is to serve the people – not those who appointed him.
The PL responded by denouncing Grech as “cheap” – and his actions as those of a politician becoming “more and more irrelevant”.
They added that this request for an investigation into the PM was coming from an Opposition leader who “believes that institutions exist to play his partisan games” and that doing so is an attempt to “get him into office”.
The PL contrasted Grech’s “cheapness” with Robert Abela – who they characterised as a “Prime Minister has held the national interest in full view under every circumstance”.
Gafà has not responded to Bernard Grech’s call for the Police Commissioner to investigate the PM.
Do you believe that Robert Abela has acted with the national interest in mind?
