Labour Doubles Lead Over PN As Bernard Grech’s Trust Rating Drops In Latest Survey

The Labour Party has widened its lead over the Nationalist Party to a 24,000-vote advantage, according to a new MaltaToday survey, doubling its margin since February.
With an absolute majority of 51.6%, compared to the PN’s 42.8%, the latest numbers suggest Labour’s strategy of consolidating its core voter base is paying off.
Meanwhile, trust in PN leader Bernard Grech has dropped sharply, now trailing Prime Minister Robert Abela by a staggering 27 points in the trust barometer.

The trust barometer shows Prime Minister Robert Abela leading with 46.5%, while Opposition Leader Bernard Grech trails at 20%, and 33.5% of respondents said they trust neither.
In terms of voting intentions, the Labour Party is polling at 51.6%, the PN at 42.8%, with Momentum at 2.2%, ADPD at 1.5%, and other parties at 1.9%. The projected turnout stands at 77.5%.
For the first time since the 2023 European elections, Labour has regained an absolute majority. PN support is reportedly slipping, particularly among 16–35-year-olds, where Grech’s trust rating is just 12%. By contrast, 96.2% of current Labour voters trust Abela.
Meanwhile, the government received its highest-ever score since 2023 in the performance barometer, averaging 3.1 out of 5, with particularly strong ratings in Labour heartlands like the South Harbour region.
