Labour Veteran Blasts ‘Poser’ Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando After He Salutes Daphne Caruana Galizia
Former Labour secretary general Jason Micallef has labelled Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando as a “poser” after the Science Council chairman and former Nationalist MP saluted Daphne Caruana Galizia for her courage in exposing corruption.
“I have held back from commenting publicly pending the investigations, but I cannot stay silent about this poser who ended up in the news this morning after he was the person behind the greatest scandal and lie of the 2008 electoral campaign,” Jason Micallef, who is currently chairman of ONE TV and the Valletta Cultural Agency, said.
He was referring to the Mistra scandal which involved the application of an open-air disco on land belonging to Pullicino Orlando, back then a PN MP, which dominated the electoral campaign 11 years ago.
“Back then, the PN and all its allies, including the blogger [Daphne Caruana Galizia], had defended this blatant lie and the Mistra scandal, even though they knew that we had the proof, including the entire contract.”
“A day after the March 2008 election, the PN and its allies, including the blogger, came out strongly against Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando because they had reached their goals by then. They stole an election above all considerations with just over a thousand votes.”
“Ironically, the person who is now being interrogated [Keith Schembri] had welcomed this poser within his fold and this morning [Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando] is pontificating about his own virginity. I am proud that I never supported him and that I have always remained against the way this poser was rehabilitated within the Labour Party.”
