Maltese Court Agrees With Delia’s Urgent Request For Full Egrant Report Hearing

A request to discuss a constitutional application for the publication of the full Egrant inquiry “with urgency” has been upheld by the court.

Filed by the leader of the Nationalist Party Adrian Delia, the application process was initiated because, according to the Opposition, “the whole truth, and not just part of it, has to emerge”.

Proceedings with the court were started after the Attorney General objected to giving Delia a full copy of the Egrant inquiry report. Following the official application, the Attorney General also fought back on this front, and argued there was no need for the case to be treated as urgent.

In its statement, the court said the very fact that the case had been filed by the leader of the Opposition means it should be heard with urgency and will be heard on September 3rd, 2018.
