MZPN, the youth wing of the Nationalist Party, is launching the Prijorità lill-Ġejjieni initiative in a bid to attract new blood with “aspirations to contribute to our project – making today’s political reality a better one”.

“Today’s young generation has a crucial role in the political world. Not in the distant future, not tomorrow – but today,” the organisation said. “MZPN’s role is to earmark and encourage young people who have the right ideas.”

This coming March signals the PN’s internal elections and the group are hoping to bolster their ranks with strong and young candidates that may become a central part of the party structure for the foreseeable future.

“Moreover, we intend to bring as many people to the table as possible to help us regenerate the party and develop new ideas, new targets and new ambitions.”

Key young paid-up party members, as well as other young potentials, will be contacted by MZPN in the coming days.

The group said that with this new initiative the PN youth wing would “take this step forward, and together we will work to turn this idea into reality”.

Just this month, one of Malta’s youngest ever Cabinets was sworn in under the leadership of 42-year-old Robert Abela and his new administration.
