Owen Bonnici Refuses To Give Breakdown Of Reports Filed To Local Councils Because Collating Data Would Be ‘Too Time Consuming’
Knowledge of how many reports were filed to Malta’s local councils in the past years will remain a mystery after authorities said that collating such data was ‘too time-consuming’.
The statement came from Minister for National Heritage, the Arts, and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, who was answering a parliamentary question asked by PN MP Darren Carabott.
In his question, Carabott asked for an account of how many reports were registered in local councils across all localities in Malta over the past five years.
Carabott also asked for an account of how many reports on litter were issued over the same time frame.
But Bonnici’s response was that the compilation of such data would take too much time and effort.
He claimed that such an operation would require a lot of resources that could otherwise be put to more productive uses.
As a result, details on the actual amount of reports registered across Malta’s local councils will remain unknown.
