PN Launches Online Democracy Platform To Crowdsource Proposals

In the midst of a tense election season, Malta’s Partit Nazzjonalista has just announced (via Facebook Live) that it will be rolling out a new system of e-mocracy to crowdsource proposals and new policy ideas.

The online platform will allow users to interact directly with proposals and make suggestions of their own on how to amend them. They can also scrutinise and criticise the suggestions, and make entirely new suggestions of their own.

The platform will be branded under the #forzanazzjonali name, and will be accessible to users via Facebook login.

Albeit it in an April Fools’ joke, one of #PartitLM’s strongest proposals was in fact one calling for more online participation in the democratic process.

The proposed platform, which resembles the existing Icelandic model, will include a simple, easy to understand forum-like space for users to log in and give their feedback.

Emocr

Existing Icelandic Platform – Subcategories can be created for specific towns, areas or proposals.

Em

Existing Icelandic Platform – Suggestions and idea tabs found within the subcategories.

For And Against

Existing Icelandic Platform – Arguments are written either ‘for’ or ‘against’ by different users.

Each sub-forum allows for discussions for and against proposals, news updates and relevant information for those looking to follow.

So if anyone wants to upload one (or more) of #PartitLM’s 52 manifesto proposals, they should totally go for it.
