PN Takes 12,000-Vote Lead Over Labour In Latest Survey
The Nationalist Party is leading the Labour Party by approximately 12,000 votes, according to MaltaToday’s latest survey.
This marks the first survey conducted since June’s European Parliament elections. The results indicate that the PN has gained 48.2% of the electorate’s support, while the PL trails at 43.8%. The survey projects a voter turnout of 75.7%.
Interestingly, the PN’s surge comes despite party leader Bernard Grech’s low standing in the trust barometer, where he trails Prime Minister Robert Abela by 16 points.
Abela holds a trust rating of 42.6%, compared to Grech’s 26.6%. Despite this, the PN has maintained an upward trajectory following the European elections.
The survey also revealed that the PN has made significant inroads among young voters, leading by 4.5 points among those aged 16-35.
The party is also leading in four out of six regions, including the Northern Harbour and Gozo. However, the PL maintains a strong hold in the South-Eastern region, with 53% of the vote.
As the political landscape continues to shift, the survey suggests that the Labour Party has lost over 45,000 votes compared to the 2022 general election, with many of those voters now abstaining.
The government’s performance was rated 2.6 out of 5, showing a slight improvement since May. While the Labour Party trails in the polls, Abela continues to lead Grech in terms of trust across all regions.
