PN To Debate Adrian Delia’s Future But Warns Critics: ‘Some Of You Don’t Even Have A Vote’
The Nationalist Party’s General Council will hold an extraordinary meeting to debate the future of Opposition leader Adrian Delia following an official request by 200 PN activists.
PN General Council President Kristy Debono said she has passed on the request to the party’s executive to kickstart the process to call a general council meeting.
However, after carrying out verifications on the 200 signatories, she warned that 84 of them are either not, members of the Council, and therefore don’t have a right to vote, or .
She said that 23 of them aren’t members of the General Council and five of them are no longer members of the General Council after refusing to pay the membership fee (tessera).
She added that 14 of them had last paid the tessera in 2017 and 41 of them had last paid it in 2018. In one case, the signatory’s name and surname didn’t match with their ID card.
“After conducting the necessary verifications according to Article 31 of the PN statute, we are passing this list to the PN Executive to kickstart the process of calling a General Council and to design and approve its agenda,” Debono said.
