Prime Minister’s Media Chief Doesn’t Deny Possibility Of Moving On To Malta Enterprise
The Prime Minister’s head of communications Kurt Farrugia has left the door open to potentially taking charge at Malta Enterprise.
In a blog post today, Manuel Delia cited separate sources as saying that Farrugia has been touted to succeed Mario Galea at the helm of the government’ foreign investment agency.
In comments to Lovin Malta, Farrugia didn’t deny the report.
“Mr Mario Galea is CEO of Malta Enterprise,” he said. “I have been working closely with Mr Galea and Malta Enterprise, representing the Office of the Prime Minister on a number of major projects and investments [as well as] and on the UK-Business Promotion Taskforce which I have been a part of for two years,” he said.
“I am currently the Head of Government Communications and my intention is to remain at the service of the Prime Minister, in whichever capacity he deems best for our country.”
Farrugia has been Joseph Muscat’s head of communications since 2008, helping him win ten successive elections. However, Muscat has repeatedly pledged to step down as Prime Minister before the next general election, meaning Farrugia might have to start eyeing new job opportunities.
