President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola took to social media following the meeting held in Washington DC by world leaders to address the war in Ukraine.

“The European Union is at its core a project for peace. We have always and will always strive for peace. We know the cost of war all too well,” Metsola wrote. “Real peace must be built on strong security guarantees for Ukraine in order to last and not simply be postponed to a larger war down the road.”
